14th – 16th August 2014
I booked a three day trip in the rural district of Mai Chau. It was, once again, lovely to get out of the hustle and bustle of Hanoi!
On the way at a pit stop, we could have opted for some snake/lizard wine!
Yes, I passed on that one!

A beautiful moth
My bed for the night
A bike ride around the stunning countryside
Men working in the village
Here they live a very simple way of life
Awwww
At least we had the right bikes for it…!
This is as still as it got for a picture…
Kids playing on a raft
A great group of girls
A spider that likes to get the sewing machine out on his web, can’t beat a bit of zig zag stitch to funk it up a little bit!
We Went for a trek through the village and out through the countryside.
When I got excited by the red dragonfly, the guide thought he was being nice by catching it for me, although luckily I don’t think he damaged it!
We stopped off at a local family’s home. The fireplace for cooking on.
Kitty warming himself in the ashes
l don’t think he was too bothered about having a pic taken!
So cute! Duck family crossing the field!
An evening of local entertainment
Some kind of alcoholic beverage!
