The Mysterious Michel Desmarquet

During my trip in Vietnam, one day I met a rather eccentric French man,  Michel Desmarquet.  I spent a good few hours chatting to him,  while Laura and him played a few games of chess. He was a very interesting character, who says he was abducted by aliens in the late 80’s, and has had a spiritual awakening through this.
He has even written a book on his experience of being taken to another planet – The Thiaoouba Phrophecy’, or, as it is now more recently known ‘Abduction to the Ninth Planet’.  Michel certainly likes a  good drop of wine, so much so that we were talking about his experiences over a glass or two at about 11am in the morning!  I was absolutely fascinated by his story, avidly listening to his experience, although never in too much detail, for I have to read the book.  There it will be revealed his awakening and beliefs on why we are on this planet.

He says that there are lots of people who want to find him to talk to him, but he is not interested in talking about it anymore, because people just write him off as crazy.  He says ‘I would think the same if I hadn’t been through it myself!’.  So, he would rather stay incognito in the depths of Vietnam.  Whether there are scores of people looking for him or not, I don’t know. Nevertheless, I will keep my word and not reveal his location in this blog!  His book is pretty well read I believe, and out of print copies are now only available on amazon for around £40! Although whilst chatting with him I did manage to find a copy to read online, which one day soon I will!

      1. Hello 👋 bobcatclaire! You can just call me FREDDY. I read the entire book about Michel Desmarquet exploration on the planet THIAOOUBA. I believe EVERYTHING he says. Besides! How many people can remember about there on birth. Imagine in seeing oneself coming out of there mothers womb. Well, it happened to me. That’s right. By the way, I believe the planet THIAOOUBA is much OLDER than we as humans could even imagine. Over Billions and Bilions of years old. I also believe that ALL of us were once GIANTS ALSO. That’s right. Oh almost forgot. I believe that man will one day be able to travel faster than the speed of LIGHT. I know this for a fact. Nothing is impossible if the human race just believe within themselves. THANK YOU 🙏 for your attention. Have a bless day. FREDDY 👍👍❤️

    1. Hi!

I am very eager to get in-touch with Desmarquet. I can imagine the struggle he and his family had to endure through the publishing and interview processes – it’s understandable to why he has been remaining “distant.” I have read ‘Thiaoouba Prophecy’ several times – it continually enlightens my bodies more than I’ve known any other truth. I’ve been extremely impressed to locate and commune with Michel, even if only for a few moments of time. My name is David Joseph Nardone, age 28, U.S.A. – My email is dreamusic7@hotmail.com – I’ve searched several websites with little luck so far in getting a response; and would truly be humbled if somehow this message could reach him. My motivation in communicating with him is to acknowledge certain private information regarding Thao.. along with a task that has chosen me to be a lead in very important upcoming movements… A simple meditation on this will prove my resolve and sincerity. I hope to talk with you soon Michel. Thank you so much for your time and to whoever will please forward him this message! ^♡^ 🙂

  9. I wonder what kind of toll this might have taken on his immediate family and friends if he was compelled to “escape” to Vietnam. Would they believe and support him? I can’t be sure my wife would stick around and believe me if I was in his shoes! Which is perhaps a sad reflection on my own personal faith in people or cynicism. But it does beg the question of whether he’s now living alone or surrounded by loved ones. I sincerely hope for the latter.

  10. A friend recommended the book to me, and while I enjoyed it A LOT, however, I’m still very skeptical. IMHO the writer could have left for 2 reasons: 1) He fabricated the entire story and is on the run from people seeking him out that he is scared of hard questions (which should rightfully be asked). 2) He fabricated it. Sorry to be so negative, but let me be honest with you; If I (Me) had this experience tonight and woke up tomorrow and told my family and significant other about it, they would TOTALLY believe me. And I say this with the utmost sincerity. Why? Because they know me as a person, what I’m capable of and my psychology! His actions don’t make sense for someone who has been an honest man of integrity his whole life. No one of a long-standing reputation of a sound mind and heart would wander off into the middle of nowhere to fall out of the sight of the public after experiencing such a life-changing event. If his family knew that he was a good man with a good reputation they would be standing by his side till THE DAY HE DIES backing him up! Where are they?

If anyone actually does have contact with him, tell him to step up to the plate and start answering some hard questions. The only way I would even entertain the idea of believing this book is if his immediate family who has known him for a very long time intimately came out and vouched for his credibility. I don’t mean they can say “Yes this happened”, but rather vouching for him as a person for his entire life. Can anyone back him up that he has never shown a knack for writing? Has he ever written anything like this before? Many many questions need to be asked to his family about the claims the writer makes about themselves.

Unfortunately, the book is being taken as reality by some people. How is any of this different from other cult formations? No proof, no evidence; Just one man’s story that he is passing off as something that “came to him out of nowhere” and then mysteriously vanishes to a third world country… This is the formula of fraud, and people need to be cautious about taking anything like this into their belief system as any other pseudo-science floating around the net.

I hope that this website keeps my comments up, as I think people need to be reminded about being skeptical, even when something sounds so cool, and we wish it to be true so bad.

Good luck to all of us in our journey. We’ll find out one day, but maybe your goal right now is to be in this moment, in this reality, that is all.

    1. Whilst I agree that it would likely be beneficial to new readers (say in the last decade) to have more engagement with the author to ascertain for themselves the credibility of Michel’s experience — I think we also have to consider a few things… This abduction supposedly happened around 1987. Publication took a few years after this. Michel isn’t getting any younger and I do know for a fact that he did radio interviews and workshops back in the day. You could look up Tom Chalko and Michael Meanwell for references to people who contributed their time in getting his message out, and also providing forums for debate/questions, and perhaps to facilitate the workshops. I had dealings with Meanwell personally with an early version of his website, and he was the most down to earth genuine guy you could meet. He also asked Michel some of the “hard questions” during radio broadcast reviews.

I too would love to grill Michel for a few hours — but as I said, I think the man took care of his “mission” as he puts it, many years ago and maybe he’s kind of washed his hands of it… if what he said is true, it would make sense to kind of live more like a monk, simply, and trying to grow spiritually as much as possible in the time remaining. Anything else, like jumping on social media or blogs is probably going akin to going back to materialistic pursuits in his mind.

But of course there is the other (cynical) possibility that whatever profit he made off this “best seller” has allowed him to live in reasonable comfort, and perhaps avoid paying taxes in Australia 😉 — (that last remark was a joke).

    2. He doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone. He was asked to relay a message to humanity. He did as he was asked, he held talks for a time with people who had questions and he was ridiculed. The experience changed him to the point of not even wanting to live on this planet anymore and I don’t blame him, life here is full of pain and sadness. This happened in the 80’s, people were still very much non believers back then and extremely judgemental and harsh. Just as you are being now. He passed away in 2018 so he is free of this world now and if you choose to believe he is a liar then that is your experience to have.

      1. He wrote a book to prove a point. He made the choice to write it, no one made him. So to say he doesn’t have anything to prove is ironic because he made the effort to share his story (or whatever you want to call it) as a fact that he 100% believed. If he didn’t have anything to prove he shouldn’t have wrote it and kept it to himself. That would be the true act of someone not needing to prove anything.

    3. Your answer clearly shows that you are not ready to understand the truth, for me this book is truth, It all makes sense. The reason he left because he was sick of people writing him off and calling him crazy, when all he was doing was telling truth of what happened to him personally. Sceptics will always be sceptics, but I come back to the old saying, “Truth is often stranger then fiction,”!

      1. Wow, just wow. “Your answer clearly shows that you are not ready to understand the truth” — what a condescending thing to say. The only thing clear here is your bias, that the book all makes sense TO YOU. The book also made sense FOR ME on a number of levels, but I don’t take that as permission to behave presumptuously or make statements as absolute in the face of another’s opinion. Learn to accept that not everyone will see things your way — that doesn’t make it a given you know anything at all about their level of understanding or interpretation of the “facts” stated in the book.

  11. Are you an student attorney or something Isaac? LOL… Your statement is almost akin to the logic applied to the drowning of witches. If they float they weren’t witches. If Michel didn’t write the message he was compelled to share with humanity, he wouldn’t be “proving” he was abducted by aliens and taken to another planet. The trouble with that thinking is Claire wouldn’t likely have met Michel in Vietnam and we wouldn’t be having this discussion in the first place. If you had knowledge that you came by that you felt was beneficial to all of humanity… wouldn’t you tell it to everyone who crossed your path, or better yet — write a book (pre-Internet) about the experience? (If nothing else, to leave a legacy of your story for your own sanity).

    1. So now requiring evidence and probing of someone’s credibility and character as the person they claim they are in a book they wrote where they make wild claims about themselves and their fantastical experience is now akin to the witch hunts of the 16th Century? I think you have an issue with logic by your own definition and I encourage you to take a look at the stance you took with your statements. This isn’t about proving whether the fantasy outlined in the books is real, it’s about fact checking the claims made about the author who they themselves used to paint themselves as credible. Let me give you an example of some of the Tomfoolery in this book that are just 1 of many red flags of a trickster: “An albino is an accident, and a four-leafed clover can also be
considered as an accident. Your appendix is just as much an accident. Your doctors still wonder what use it could possibly have in your body. The answer – no use whatsoever.” So it’s these psudoscience “gotchya!” Moments that are littered throughout this book that were relevant at the time of his experience, but have since been debunked by science (fact). So when you combine that with this initiative to paint the writer as an innocent, naive, inexperienced and uncultured little landscaper is a pretty big red flag, and time to start asking questions. If the writer made the decision to back away from questions then that’s their decision but it only hurts their credibility even more when you add their resistance to the mix. Is it possible he’s telling the truth? Maybe, but when you start putting things I to context and thinking objectively about it and dropping our personal romance with these statements in the books the truth will start to show itself.

      1. I don’t disagree with the larger points you’re making Isaac, in fact I fully endorse critical thinking and analysis. What I was referring to was your specific remark: “If he didn’t have anything to prove he shouldn’t have wrote it and kept it to himself.”, which defies logic… especially coming from someone who appears to have a good handle on making an argument. Otherwise couldn’t agree more, well said.

  12. I knew Michel. He was a cantankerous old man from Normandy who was a wonderful chess player. I was even the first to read his latest book “Natures Revenge” before it was even published. Here is what he would have said to those who demanded “proof” that his experiences were not real: Can you prove it didn’t happen? Often he would be asked: “Why didn’t they give you some technology (proof) to help humanity?” Michel’s reply: “it would have been like giving a hand grenade to a kindergartener”. He will be missed.

  13. Michel’s aliens’ book was mind blowing. It was such a fascinating read, I don’t believe I’ve ever read a book in such a ravenous apatite. The messages to mankind align with many messages I wrote in my books during the last two decades. I haven’t decided yet whether it was fiction or real an account, however, it suits me fine, because what’s important the most is the message. We really need to step up as people and save our dying planet. I’ve been looking for some interviews with his son and wife. Does anyone haver any links? Like many readers I wish to know what happened during those days he was gone. Did his wife alert the police? Was he declared a missing person in Australia? It will be nice to hear something from his family.
    Best wishes,
    Stephan Attia

  14. The book profoundly resonates with me. I find myself wishing for additional information or interviews that could have been included prior to its publication, especially following Michel’s transformative visit to Thiaoouba. Such content could serve as compelling evidence for those seeking more tangible proof, eliminating the need for further validation. It’s only natural to yearn for even the slightest form of support and validation as that offers peace especially amidst the complexities of the world around us.
