The Mekong Delta region was a vast area of rivers, floating villages and markets. I spent the last few days of Vietnam in this area, before getting a boat over the border into Cambodia.
Here are a few photos from the area:
Houses along the river banks
A floating petrol station!
A dusky evening sunset from the rooftop of our hotel
Local security guards playing a board game
A trip along the Mekong
Unfortunately, and this goes for many areas in Vietnam, there is a lot of rubbish in the rivers and seas, it’s a sad sight.
The floating markets
Getting my hair done, colour applied with a toothbrush!
Vietnamese postie! I want one of these bikes, be great for all those long drives in South Wonston!
We were invited to a party to celebrate this guy’s baby being a month old!
Been there , very beautiful x going back in February
Lovely sunset pics Claire.
The photo of you in the hairdresser’s chair made us giggle – you look like a proper diva 🙂
Where’s the end product of the hairdresser?? Shame about the river it looks quite dirty!! All an interesting experience thoughxx
Hi ha, was a bit freaky reading or rather looking at your amazing pics as a new series has started on tv all about the Mekong with Sue Perkins.. She failed to visit your hairdresser and is not half as adventurous as you lol 😄. Enjoying all your sending. Keep em coming. Hope you are ok and having the time of your life. X
I like the floating petrol station! I wonder if it gives you the choice of “Pay at the pump” or “Pay in kiosk”!!
Love the pics as usual , love the hairdresser glad you never got electrucuted with all those plugs ha ging every where lol xxx
Ha ha no luckily I didn’t! 🙂
